Cradle, Cross, Crown

Merry Christmas,
Christmas morning and my household is still sleeping so I thought I would try to post a quick blog. It seems this past week with no school has had me still burning the candle at both ends and not much time to meditate and write my thoughts down.

The words cradle, cross, crown have been ringing in my ears the entire Christmas season. I love to celebrate the Baby Jesus in the cradle. I love the carols of Christmas. I love EVERYTHING about Christmas. I always have. I had a Dad who loved Christmas and made it very special for me. But, we just can't stop at the manager. Our journey must always lead us to the cross. Without the cross, "it would always be winter and never Christmas." Without the cross my sins would still weigh me down. Without the cross life would be hopeless.

But, we can't forget the crown. This baby is coming again in "great power and glory". Not as a baby, not to die again, but to Reign in power and glory. One day He will totally conquer Satan, sin, sickness, death, sorry, suffering, pain, difficulty and everything else that weighs us down.

Just like Simeon of old, I want to be looking, waiting, longing for THAT day. But today, I want to say with him, "For my eyes(spiritual) have seen Your salvation. You have prepared it, in the presence of all peoples - a light for revelation to the Gentiles and glory to Your people Israel."

Jesus is Christmas!! May we all see Him today and come and worship Him.
Merry CHRISTmas!!
